JR. Umpire

Information

• Ages 14 & Up
• Attend Jr. Umpire Clinic and Info Session
• Register with USA Softball
• This is a great opportunity to learn the game from a new perspective. Learn all the rules of softball, get a new respect for calling a game, gain confidence, develop leadership skills and get that first job experience!
• Junior Umpires will receive training to manage umpiring call duties behind home plate and in the field, learning how to manage the game from an unbiased perspective.

Clinic Sessions

• Primary Session
• Saturday, January 20 @ 9am
• Location:  Aliso Viejo
• Secondary Session (if necessary)
• Either Saturday February 3 or February 10

USA Softball Registration & Additional Information

• Registration
• All Youth umpires must register with USA Softball (we can guide them through the process)
• IGSA will reimburse all candidates for the Registration Fee with a minimum game commitment

Games & Fees

• Most Youth Umpires would begin with 8U games
• Spring
• 8U Games are on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons
• Fall
• 8U Games are on Sunday mornings/afternoons
• We would expect any active players to prioritize their HS practice/game schedule over umpiring
• With more experience, Youth Umpires may graduate to calling 10U games
• Umpire Fee: $60 for single umpire games
